Within the framework of realization of the current standards of staff life and health protection and labour protection PJSC “Ilyich Iron & Steel Works”, an affiliate of Metinvest Holding, spent UAH 76,3M during 6 months of 2012. These expenditures include UAH 6M invested in organization of supply of drinking water for employees of MMKI, UAH 7,6M invested in treatment-and-prophylactic meals, milk and juice supply for employees working in harmful conditions.
The major part of financing amounting to UAH 53M is to be invested in purchasing high-technological clothes for metallurgists. On the threshold of autumn-winter period necessary reserve of heat-insulated jackets, woolen suits, leather boots of the latest pattern is already available at the stocks of the Works. All protective clothes by the best manufacturers were bought on the tender basis and are complying with the safety requirements for “hot” industry.

Currently preparatory works required for certification according to the International Standard OHSAS 18001 for labor protection are almost finished at our enterprise. The ultimate aim of this innovative project is to maximize security at the Works and to bring the rate of traumatism to zero”
