At the first heat station of MMKI, which is a part of Metinvest Group, large-scale construction of turboblower № 3 was accomplished and it was commissioned at the 21 of June. It will allow to increase the productivity of blast furnace №3 to 7% and to reduce the specific consumption of coke to 7 kg/t of hot metal. The cost of the project is 31 mln $.
Among the technological equipment of Heat Station -1 the turboblower №3 will be the most up-to-date. The 19th MW turbine and compressor with the production capacity 4000 m3 /min, according to the calculations of the Works technicians are to improve successfully the quality of the blast for the Blast Furnace Shop, to increase the productivity and to ensure the stable work of the blast furnaces.
Taking into account that at present 8 air blowers are already working at the Heat Station -1, the technicians found the way to implement at the Works proven, efficient, high-power computerized turbine compatible with the already existing equipment.
“Commissioning of the new turboblower is only the first stage of the integrated programme of Works technological revamp up to 2020. In the nearest future it is planned to repair the 5th and the 6th blowers at the Heat Station №1”-pointed out the Head of the Works Vladimir Boyko. The start-up of the turboblower -3н will provide the Blast Furnace Shop with more than 4000 m3 of blast and will allow to use more flexible system of maintenance repairs. It will also provide the necessary conditions for the development of the Blast Furnace Shop. Among them are the capital repair of the Blast Furnace №2 and further reconstruction of the Blast Furnace Shop taking into account the repair works at the Blast Furnace №1.
